Dr. Ken Newman, DVM,    Diplomat ACVS

Ken brings to our team a tremendous amount of valuable experience as well as a wealth of knowledge. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a Major in Animal Science at the University of Guelph. Ken then continued his education at the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Ken was later accepted for a position as a Large Animal Surgery resident at the Ohio State University where he completed his Masters of Science. Ken joined our team in 2007 and has since become an owner/partner in the Prescott Animal Hospital/Rideau St. Lawrence Veterinary Services organization. In 2008 Ken completed the large animal surgery board exam and is now a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons – Large Animal Surgery. Dr. Newman resides locally with his wife Margaret (who is also a veterinarian), four children- Elizabeth, Samuel, Andrew and Patrick, and their dog Cricket. Dr. Newman spends the majority of his time in the farm animal division of the hospital but enjoys seeing feline and canine friends when he can. He is soft spoke and always aware of the small details within the hospital that ensure our patients and clients with a great experience.
